Lisa Dinkle has spent the last 10 years in various library related positions from working the circulation desk at public libraries, training library staff on library software, testing library software to currently assisting in collection development at an academic library. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 2010 with a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science with a certificate in Advanced Management in Libraries and Information Agencies. She then spent a year and a half in software testing department. In addition, to working at VTLS, Inc. now III, she worked part time at the Blacksburg Public Library as a Circulation Specialist. Lisa joined the Collection Development department of Radford University’s McConnell Library in September 2014, where she participates in library committees, is social chair of her department, and as a library liaison for several academic departments.
I am honored to be nominated for the position of NMRT Programming Director. As an attendee of local NMRT events, I am excited about the opportunity to help organize events and coordinate volunteers throughout the state. I have been organizing informal librarian events since I first began in libraries and look forward to sharing my past experiences with other NMRT librarians. One of my goals as a librarian is to develop more opportunities for librarians to collaborate together to strengthen our profession and attending social events are great way of identifying common interests and ideas, not to mention making new librarian friends.
