If you didn’t catch it already, NPR has a brief story on the issue libraries are facing with ebooks. As most of us know and are experiencing first-hand already, “Digital books are the fastest growing area of publishing. Libraries are seeing a surge in demand for e-book titles as well, but there’s a downside. Most major publishers won’t allow libraries to lend their titles, while others impose restrictions or charge double or triple the print price” (Libraries Grapple with the Downside of E-Books).
How is your library entering into the eReader conversation? Do you have ideas you think would work? Consider this an open floor for comments!
