Introducing… the candidate for Programming Coordinator!

Candidate: Laura W. Gariepy
Running For: Programming Coordinator
Current Job Title: Undergraduate Research Librarian, 2009-present

Statement: “I believe that planning opportunities for library folks to network, exchange ideas, and just have a good time together provides a simple, effective way to create cohesion within our profession and share information with one another. I’m a fan of educational and networking programming, but I also think that time o get together and just be friends with fellow library people is where a lot of idea sharing and relationship building happens.  Building a network of friendship and support within the profession is especially important for people new to the library profession.  I have been performing the role of Programming Coordinator unofficially since the inception of the VLA NMRT Forum, and I would love to have the opportunity to keep working with folks across the state to plan enriching and fun events for new and experienced librarians alike.”
